Cricut Machines, Reviews

I personally think Cricut Expression 290611 is the one for me, but the price tag is a little expensive, however well worth it! Cricut 29-0001 is a very good alternative.

I bought this product after reading a lot of reviews, everyone just seemed to be in love with it. I bought one and I played around with it and it does cut nice shapes, however, most of the shapes on the George cartridge are fonts. When I read some reviews they go into great detail on how this has up to 4500 different images, fonts, shapes, etc… What they fail to mention is that if you just buy the machine which comes with the George cartridge. The George cartridge is about fourty shapes, different fonts and shaded images or black out image or out lined image of the same shape or font. For the price of this thing I was expecting 4500 different images. You can obviously buy more cartridges at around $39.00 to $90.00. There’s no doubt that this machine is very very cool, but be prepared to fork over more money for cartridges. The mat loses its stickiness pretty fast as well. It takes a lot of tinkering to get the cut depth right, so use regular construction paper it worked pretty easily, but when I went to textured cardstock it didn’t cut deep enough. Scrapbooking is all about trial and error, and finding what works best for you. People suggest to use thin sheets of compostion board in this machine, I don’t know about that though. I’m an avid scrapbooker and I work with alot of mediums from paper crafting, upholstry, painting and wood work. Overall I’am not nearly as impressed as this as most people are, but only because it didn’t come with more cartridges. If you’re looking for an affordable cricut machine then I think Cricut 29-0001 is for you.

Happy Crafting!
